Claire Hicks brings a wealth of expertise and passion to the field of applied behavior analysis, with a career rooted in education and a commitment to improving lives. Beginning as an inclusion classroom teacher in Tennessee, Claire gained firsthand experience understanding diverse learning styles and the individualized needs of students. She completed her clinical teaching rotations across a wide variety of esteemed locations, including the Tennessee School for the Blind.

Claire holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Austin Peay State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis from National University in San Diego. As both a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Qualified Behavior Analyst, she is licensed to practice in seven states and is specially trained in a variety of standardized assessments including the VB-MAPP, ABLLS, and AFLS.

Her dedication to advancing the field led her to join the QABA Board of Directors, where she helps ensure that certified clinicians uphold the highest standards of care. Claire’s unwavering commitment to applied behavior therapy and her drive to promote excellence make her an invaluable asset to the QABA Board and the broader ABA community.

Sian Jorgenson

Encompass Safeguarding

Sian is the Director of Encompass Safeguarding and a renowned safeguarding expert with over 20 years of international experience. She holds Master’s degrees in both Counselling and Social Work and is a highly qualified internationally as a Child Abuse Investigator, Social Worker, and Trauma-Informed Counsellor.

As the founder of ©SAFE Interviewing, Sian has pioneered innovative approaches to safeguarding practices, helping organisations worldwide to improve their responses to child protection concerns. She is a well-known safeguarding speaker, having presented at numerous high-profile conferences (EARCOS, WISE, FOBISIA, Safeguarding Symposium etc) and is honoured to also serve on the Advisory Board for the Child Protection Unit, an NGO in Cambodia that works alongside the National Police to investigate the most serious crimes against children.

Through her consultancy, training, and support services, she works with schools and organisations globally to enhance child protection systems, reduce the risk of abuse, and sensitively but thoroughly explore allegations. Sian is passionate about empowering those who work with children to take proactive steps to prevent harm and is committed to creating safer environments for children everywhere.

Dr. Nguyen Le Hoai Anh is a senior lecturer and Head of the Department of Social Work Foundations at Faculty of Social work, Hanoi National University of Education, Vietnam. With over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and professional practice, her work sits at the intersection of social work, gender studies, and education.

Her research focuses on gender-based violence, student wellbeing, and resilience, particularly among young people in educational settings. She has led and contributed to multiple national and international projects in collaboration with organizations such as the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and international partners including Plan International, ChildFund, and Save the Children. She is also an alumna of several prestigious international programs, including the CONVERGE postdoctoral training (Emory University, USA) and Erasmus+ academic exchange.

Dr. Hoai Anh has published extensively on social work, gender, and sexuality education, including books and peer-reviewed articles. Her current work explores dating violence among university students in Vietnam, with a particular emphasis on resilience processes and the development of inclusive, trauma-informed support systems to enhance student wellbeing. Her broader academic and professional interests include comprehensive sexuality education, LGBTQ+ inclusion, mental health, and innovative teaching approaches integrating participatory and AI-enhanced learning in social work education.
